General Description

The Programmer Analyst will analyze, gather requirements, design, create, test, document, implement, maintain, and update web sites and applications.

Primary duties and responsibilities of the job:

This position will ensure adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables to ensure project goals are accomplished. The Programmer Analyst will participate in all aspects of analysis, requirements gathering, designing, developing/testing, documenting, implementing and maintaining web projects. This includes development of work plans, schedules, project estimates, and status reports.

The Programmer Analyst will design and implement programs using a variety of methods, including Drupal, PHP, HTML, XML, JavaScript, and CSS to provide web-based services and products. The candidate should be familiar with current cross-browser requirements and possess a determination to debug and test their work. In addition, the Programmer Analyst will analyze, review, and modify existing web applications and sites to increase operating efficiency, accessibility and adaptation to new standards.

The Programmer Analyst interacts with divisional functional and technical staff for topics related to the configuration, coding, testing, and problem resolution within the broader scope of assigned project. This position identifies and reports issues and enhancement opportunities to management; participates in meetings to identify possible solutions and areas of improvement; and tracks and records time spent on tasks and projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required. One year of related work experience with web sites and applications required. Additional education may substitute for experience and additional experience may substitute for education to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

Special Knowledge and Skill:

  • Working knowledge of Drupal module development, PHP, HTML, MySQL, JavaScript, XML, and CSS.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new programming languages and technologies quickly.
  • Must be willing and capable to solve unique platform and publishing challenges.
  • Must be able to work in a demanding and dynamic team environment.
  • Must be highly service oriented, self-motivated, and possess a team-oriented attitude with strong and effective written and spoken communication skills.
