A career in development at CTY offers exciting and rewarding opportunities to foster relationships with the dedicated families and alumni who support CTY’s mission to recognize and develop the world’s greatest minds. For two generations, CTY has identified, nurtured, and advocated for academically advanced students from all backgrounds, and offers robust financial aid for qualifying students from low income families to attend its programs. These students participate in educational opportunities they wouldn’t experience anywhere else and find a safe place where it is cool to be smart. Along with exceptional academic experiences, CTY students find a welcoming circle of peers, mentors, and teachers who understand the needs of advanced learners and share their passion for knowledge. As one student wrote “CTY is so amazing that if it were a school I would go to it day and night.”
The Associate Director of Development will be responsible for raising funds in support of CTY’s priorities (access and inclusion, research, and advocacy for academically talented K-12 students) through the identification of potential donors and strategic collaboration with colleagues in development and across the organization. Meeting annual goals in dollars raised, proposals sent and visits made is expected.

This position requires significant travel, primarily on the east and west coasts of the United States, for donor visits and parent gatherings.
Successful applicants will have excellent writing and communications skills, as well as the ability to independently organize and establish objectives and priorities within a busy department.
Bachelor’s degree is required, along with three to five years of professional development or related experience.
Candidates should have a strong interest in advancing CTY’s mission.
