Johns Hopkins CTY - Instructional and Non-Instructional Summer 2022 Employment




Thank you for your interest in employment with CTY On-Campus Programs, and we are excited that you are interested in being a part of our talented team. The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) On-Campus Programs offers enriching summer opportunities for students and professionals interested in instructing or supporting very bright and engaged students in a challenging and nurturing academic community unlike any other. Summer 2022 Program Dates: Our programs run from mid-June to early August.  Please click here for a complete list of sites and program dates.


Application Helper:


CTY has a very unique job application that aims to find the best job match for applicants. You will be able to select four position preferences and four site location preferences. For instructional roles, you can select up to eight courses. Our recruiting team will evaluate your education, experience, supporting documents against your preferences to ensure that you are being matched with the suitable role. Below, you will find more information about site locations, program dates and open positions that we are looking to fill. In order to complete your application and be considered, please review the following:


  • Resume: Upload a current resume and provide information about your education and employment history. If you need to stop at any point to collect additional information, you may save your progress and resume your application at a later time. 
  • Transcripts (Required for Instructional Roles ONLY) : If you have not previously worked for CTY On-Campus Programs, you must also provide transcript(s) from all of your undergraduate and graduate institutions. Unofficial copies are acceptable. These may be uploaded along with your resume in the Documents section of your JHU Careers profile.
  • Former CTY Staff: Candidates who have previously worked in CTY Summer Programs will be required to complete a full interview process if they express interest in a role and/or course not previously occupied.


Timeline for Consideration:


  • Applications are considered through the start of the programs for any positions that remain or become open. 
  • Because of the large volume of applications, it may take up to two weeks before you hear from us. 


CTY Site Types


We have commuter day site locations and residential site locations. Commuter day sites are best for those within a commutable distance.  At day sites, students and staff go home each evening. At residential sites, room and board is covered. Students and staff live on-campus for the duration of the session. Instructional staff have most weekday evenings off and have every weekend off. If an instructional staff member lives within a commutable distance, they may opt to commute daily to a residential site. Travel is not covered for either site type.

CTY remains committed to upholding the highest safety standards for our students and staff. We continue to follow public health experts’ guidance, and will implement a thorough COVID-19 safety plan to limit the risk of positive cases during our on-campus programs. We expect our staff members to support a safe and healthy learning environment by following these guidelines, which will be updated based on public health recommendations closer to program start dates. Please note the following:


  • Johns Hopkins has mandated COVID-19 vaccines, as applicable. For additional information, applicants should visit
  • Staff will be required to leave campus within 24 hours of receiving a positive test.
    • If a staff member tests positive for COVID-19, they will be allowed to quarantine on-site for up to 24 hours, while they make arrangements to leave campus.
  • Staff should consider ease of travel when making decisions about which site to work. CTY will not reimburse costs associated with exiting campus.
  • Health services, including counselors, are reserved for student use. Off-site resources are shared with staff members. As JHU employees, staff have access to faculty assistance programs.
