Administrative Coordinator
The Office of Student Enrollment and Account Management (SEAM) seeks an Administrative Coordinator to assist with services provided to students and their families in the SEAM East Baltimore office. The Administrative Coordinator will manage the front desk and assist staff with visitors seeking help with student accounts, registration, and financial aid questions. The Administrative Coordinator must have a pleasant disposition and a positive attitude.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to engage professionally and empathetically with students, families, and staff. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are essential, along with the capacity to manage multiple inquiries efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Proficiency in administrative tasks, organizational skills, and familiarity with student account management, registration, and financial aid processes are highly preferred. The ability to remain composed and resourceful under pressure is critical to ensuring a positive and seamless experience for visitors and students.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for all visitors in the office suite.
- Manage the front desk and the walk-in process.
- Provide general information related to student accounts, registration, and financial aid.
- Instruct visitors on creating cases in the SEAM online form. (iPad, QR code, Smart device).
- Field questions, resolve low-level student concerns and refer persons to resources.
- Provide timely, efficient, and excellent customer service to all visitors.
- Assist SEAM support staff with various projects. (events, research, compiling data).
- Collect documents for SEAM office. (required forms for processing).
- Other administrative duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and privacy for sensitive information.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
- Two years of related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/Graduation Equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience using SAP travel systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Proficient use of Adobe and other electronic sources of information.

Starting Salary Range: $18.20 - $33.90 HRLY ($51,000 targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)
