Ambulatory Infusion Nurse

Green Spring Medical Oncology is an infusion center for adult solid tumor patients. The patients are treated with chemotherapy and immunotherapy for various types of cancer. There is a multidisciplinary approach to care for all patients, and we do practice primary nursing. We are seeking an Ambulatory Infusion Nurse who will be an integral part of that practice


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinating care for assigned patients to promote the achievement of clinical outcomes.
  • Provide direct patient care based on the nursing process while mentoring others to promote quality and excellence of care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary health care team to optimize team performance.
  • Promote improvements in treatment area processes and cost-effective use of resources.
  • Accountable for own decisions regarding patient care.
  • Identifies impending changes in patient condition and individual performance issues.
  • Analyzes patient care data to deliver and evaluate care.
  • May focus in the area of clinical practice or education.
  • Knowledge of nursing process, social, behavioral and physical sciences; nursing research and application; leadership and management as normally acquired through completion of bachelor’s program in nursing.
  • Knowledge of current health care environment.
  • This position communicates regularly with the Nurse Manager so that the Nurse manager can be aware of trends for longer term problem solving.
  • Mentor's others to promote quality, safety, and excellence in clinical care.
  • Precepts RN’s and CMA’s.
  • Promotes and identifies quality improvement initiatives that are aligned with the departmental and organizational safety and operational goals.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • Minimum 2 years of related nursing experience. More experience preferred.
  • Registered nurse licensure in the State of Maryland.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/Graduation Equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Johns Hopkins University’s salary range for this position. Education and Experience Equivalency

If permitted, equivalencies will follow these guidelines: JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing.
