Director, Enrollment Services

Founded in 1979, the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) is a center for innovation dedicated to advancing the field of gifted education through research on testing, programs, and other supports for advanced learners. On the premise that advanced learners come from every community and every demographic, we aim to understand and inform how these students need to be nurtured to achieve their full potential as learners and global citizens. CTY also runs in-person and online academic programs for bright learners in order to cultivate a community of advanced learners and connect students in and outside the classroom.


We are seeking a collaborative, energetic and forward-thinking leader to serve as the Director, Enrollment Services. Reporting to the Sr. Director Enrollment Management, the Director will oversee the strategic planning, policy formulation, and management related to initiatives that drive student enrollment and success. The Director of Enrollment Services plays a pivotal role in overseeing the enrollment process and managing student accounts within the institution. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills, a customer-centric mindset, and a deep understanding of enrollment management principles.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities


Enrollment Management

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize enrollment.
  • Collaborate with academic and operational departments to ensure efficient enrollment processes.
  • Analyze enrollment data and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans accordingly.


Student Accounts Management

  • Oversee the billing, invoicing, and collection processes for student accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with financial aid regulations and policies.
  • Address student inquiries and concerns related to billing, payments, and financial aid.


Team Leadership, Development and Planning

  • Supervise and mentor staff within the admissions & registration and student accounts departments.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment conducive to professional growth and development.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Prepare and manage the departmental budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.


Technology and Process Improvement

  • Evaluate and implement technology solutions to streamline enrollment and student accounts processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Collaborate with IT and other relevant departments to ensure systems integration and data integrity.


Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position directly manages 2 professional staff


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in registrar, admissions, student financial services or related areas.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of managing teams and driving results.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of best practices in admissions, financial aid, and student accounts.
  • Strong familiarity with student information systems and customer relationship management solutions.
  • Effective leadership, collaborative team building and decision-making skills are essential.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of current and emerging gifted-learner trends and best practices preferred.
  • At least 4 years of Student Information System (SIS) experience is required.
  • Experience utilizing various types of quantitative and qualitative assessments to determine admissibility is highly desired.

Total Rewards
The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Johns Hopkins University’s salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, education/training and other qualifications. Education and Experience Equivalency
Please refer to the job description above to see which forms of equivalency are permitted for this position. If permitted, equivalencies will follow these guidelines: JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination.
