Program Coordinator

The SNF Agora Institute at Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Program Coordinator to advance a key program within our mission.

The Program Coordinator will report directly to the SNF Agora Fellow and assist with strategic and logistical support for the Creating a Conservative Pro-Democracy Agenda program housed within the Institute. The initiative is a partnership with a DC–based think tank focused on deep scholarship and pragmatic policy solutions. The Research Coordinator will play a critical role in the project, working alongside the SNF Agora Fellow strategically and tactically. The Program Coordinator will support the overall initiative through assisting with the creation, analysis, and dissemination of original research, accompanying public reports, and providing logistical and strategic support for regional and national convenings that are critical to the initiative.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities 

  • In coordination with the lead SNF Agora Fellow, identify an overall program strategy to determine the cadence and types of convenings and research necessary to promote the program’s objectives.
  • Support partnerships with key stakeholders and assist with cultivating relationships with relevant institutions in the network.
  • Explore and research various successful, global pro-democracy coalitions that traverse ideological differences to serve as a resource for modeling the initiative domestically.
  • Collect and analyze survey and focus group data; manage relevant logistics (including securing relevant IRB approvals).
  • Support the analysis and dissemination of relevant research data, including writing up relevant research.
  • Assist in landscape analysis of extant research and literature surrounding conservatives and election trust and democratic support.
  • Provide program support by coordinating meetings at both the regional and national level that promote the program’s mission, assist with agenda development and strategy.
  • Serve as lead contact on meeting logistics, including securing participants and managing the invitation process, identifying and securing venues, and serving as the point of contact for attendees, vendors and key stakeholders.
  • Make travel arrangements using the department’s central bill travel card (CBTC), collects invoices and reconciles statement charges under the direction of the SNF Agora finance team.
  • Prepare contracts for signature and ensures vendors are setup in Payment Works, invoices are paid, and processes honoraria for attendees.
  • Identify and develop key meeting objectives and creates action items and next steps for all convenings.
  • Maintain knowledge about the various funding streams for the program and work under the direction of the Assist Director of Finance to ensure the administrative tasks related to the convenings are completed on time and accurately.
  • Ensure that the convenings are strategically aligned with the overall initiative.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of institutional polices and sponsor guidelines.

  • MS Office suite of software applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).


Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Five years progressively responsible related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
  • Experience with coordinating complex research projects.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
