Quality & Safety Program Coordinator

We are currently seeking a motivated, energetic, and independent individual to coordinate and operationalize quality improvement and clinical safety efforts across the Division of Infectious Diseases (ID) outpatient practice sites. We are seeking a Quality & Safety Program Coordinator works closely with Nurse Managers, clinic providers, and clinic staff to access quality measure of performance, revise workflows, and implement interventions to improve performance of the practice, while following the requirements and guidelines Maryland Primary Care Program (PCP). This position serves as a resource within a team environment and must be people-oriented and willing to independently approach and engage stakeholders. We seek an individual who is keenly interested in project management, quality improvement, and health systems delivery. The Coordinator performs all activities necessary to resolve administrative problems, provide quality and safety opportunities for staff, and coordinate projects and programs.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works with Infectious Diseases (ID) outpatient leadership and staff to ensure practice sites are fulfilling and complying with Maryland Primary Care Program requirements and reporting obligation.
  • Manages the Physician Dashboard aimed at improving patient safety related to the implementation of the Maryland Primary Care Program (PCP) within the John G. Bartlett Specialty Practice.
  • Collaborates with ID faculty to leverage available metrics to inform clinical practice about opportunities to improve quality and patient safety metrics (Patient Acuity/HCC Risk Adjustment, Transitional Care Management, and Primary Care measures).
  • Develops and executes project plans and timelines to assist with the quality safety and improvement metrics
  • Runs weekly reports in EPIC and Tableau and analyzes Primary Care Management, annual wellness visits, patient safety metrics, etc.
  • Applies analytical skills to assist in the maintenance and improvements of the physician dashboard within the Electronic Health Record system.
  • Establishes strong working relationships within Johns Hopkins and throughout the community in order to work on the Maryland PCP requirements and maintain patient safety metrics.
  • Provides monthly program and performance updates to clinical staff and hosts monthly meetings on specific topics related to the quality and safety metrics.
  • Communicates weekly with providers on opportunities to fulfill Maryland PCP requirements as a way to maintain a high quality of care for patients.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
  • Five years progressively responsible related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Epic and Tableau preferred.
  • Knowledge of data management, spreadsheets, and/or word processing essential.
  • Aptitude for learning software programs.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to confidently approach and engage individuals in a variety of roles.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
