Research Data Analyst
The Center for Psychedelic and Consciousness Research is seeking a Research Data Analyst to conduct analyses and coordinate QA activities with statistical and natural language data analyses. This is a casual position, working 10-15 hours a week.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Advise faculty/investigators on appropriate statistical analysis procedures. Assist in study planning and in quantitative and natural language processing analysis planning.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses of research data. Analyses will include, as appropriate to specific projects.
- Data review and cleaning as necessary to ensure the data accuracy.
- Preparation of frequency tables.
- Calculation of descriptive statistics that includes T-Tests, ANOVA’s and Posthoc Tests.
- Repeated measures analyses, regressions, correlations, multi-level modeling, discriminant analyses and other multivariate techniques.
- Conduct natural language analyses of archival and research data.
- Requires the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple demands.
- Assist faculty/investigators in interpreting and writing up statistical analysis methods and results. Will assist faculty/investigators in conducting natural language processing.
- Will be assigned projects by CPCR faculty investigators.
- Must be knowledgeable regarding the guidelines for the collection of research data and CPCR’s standardized methods of data management and project management.
- Provide investigators with summary tables of the results of statistical analyses; provide explanations and interpretations of statistical methods and results. Will conduct and interpret qualitative analysis on archival and research data.
- Create professional, publication quality figures for studies conducted at CPCR. Figures will be used in presentations and scientific manuscripts.

- Must work well with others to accomplish tasks with an emphasis on quality and efficiency.
- Good interpersonal skills required.
Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certifications
- Experience with computers required.
- Experience with statistical software packages including R, SAS, or SPSS as well as spreadsheet programs including Microsoft Excel is required.
- Previous experience in the use of Macintosh and IBM-compatibles is desirable.
- Experience with natural language processing is required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
- Three years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in computer science, quantitative psychology, or related field, but PhD preferred.
- At least one year’s experience in a research lab or professional setting.
- At least one year of instructional experience in research methods and statistics strongly preferred.

Starting Salary Range: $24.61 - $43.12 HRLY ($23,400 targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)
