Research Program Coordinator

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a full time Research Program Coordinator (RPC) to work in the division of General Pediatrics. The RPC will coordinate administrative and programmatic aspects of pediatric population health and health equity research projects. The multidisciplinary research agenda includes a focus on the role of adversity and health and interventions to promote health equity for children and their families. Methods and approaches used include those from epidemiology, neuroscience, epigenetics, prevention science, health policy, and child development. The successful candidate will contribute to drafting and editing presentations and publications, including preparing and modifying tables, figures, and references for publication; these will also be opportunity for authorship and professional presentations. The RPC will also support the work of the Rales Center for the Integration of Health and Integration and the General Academic Pediatrics Fellowship program.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with PI and the Research Teams.
  • Oversee day to day activities (e.g., monitoring works in progress, project-related communication, and meeting scheduling).
  • Assist with data collection and lead data management.
  • Manage study and program meetings, distributing action items and monitoring their completion.
  • Develop study protocols and data collection instruments and systems including web-based surveys, REDCap databases.
  • Assist with project-related data collection (e.g., surveys, behavioral data collection, biospecimen collection)
  • Create and manage IRB applications, amendments and reports.
  • Assist with preparing and managing reports to funders.
  • Manage and organize study databases, ensuring data quality, data cleaning and management.
  • Conduct mentored data analysis using statistics programs such as Stata or R with support.
  • Assist with grant preparation and submission.
  • Develop literature reviews, scientific papers, presentations, and posters in collaboration with research teams.
  • Create and/or manage study and program websites.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., Stata, Mplus, or R) and statistical analysis (e.g., multivariable linear and logistic regression).
  • Experience with REDCap or another similar database program.
  • Experience with GIS.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing.
