Sr Research Program Coordinator II
The Pathology Department is seeking a Sr. Research Program Coordinator II to oversee the administrative implementation of a collaborative research project between Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center (SKCCC) and Howard University Cancer Center. As part of the administrative team, the position will collaborate with the administrative team at HU to develop protocols and SOPs and oversee -related activities in each of the cores and projects. In coordination with the HU program manager, the position will oversee internal and external advisory meetings, annual retreats, and prepare mid-year and end-of-year progress reports.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide coordination, communication, and clerical functions associated with the overall Center and core services.
- Oversee planning activities for each of the Cores in the Center.
- Organize the travel logistics for seminar speakers, IAC, and PSC members.
- Oversee maintenance of the H2CAREE website.
- Assist the MPIs in posting announcements and facilitating monthly Center-wide conference calls.
- Plan and coordinated center-wide meetings
- Coordinate reviews of the Center by the Evaluation Core.
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of the semi-annual and annual progress report
- Provide assistance to Center investigators in obtaining IRB approval for projects.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency in computer software programs including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and EndNote/Refworks.
- Interactions with Johns Hopkins Institutional Review Board required, and knowledge of entering e–irb protocols and updates and interacting with IRB staff necessary.
- Knowledge and experience with statistical analysis is helpful. Excellent organizational and time management skills required. Abilities to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Demonstrated self-management.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks, short deadlines and work well under pressure with demanding and/or shifting deadlines.
- Working knowledge and/or interest in public health.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and administration within the University as well as external funders, international colleagues and research collaborators.
- Willingness to travel internationally (Africa and Europe).
- Adheres to guidelines regarding the sensitivity and confidential nature of study participant information, including HIPAA regulations.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to exercise discretion and judgment, and identify and solve problems.
- Excellent interpersonal and team skills and demonstrated ability to interact on a professional level with stakeholders from diverse cultural and linguistic background.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
- Five years related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in related discipline.

Starting Salary Range: $48,000 0 $84,100 Annually ($60,782 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
