Sr Research Program Coordinator

General Summary/Purpose:

The Sr Research Program Coordinator will oversee the program coordination and day-to-day activities of the Hopkins Population Center (HPC). This position primarily reports to the Center Director / PI. Overall, this position is to ensure the HPC meets its targets and milestones, prepare materials for annual progress reports to the funding agency (NICHD), and assist center-level grant applications

 

 Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Center.
  • Coordinate the activities and services provided by the Center through its Development, Scientific, and Administrative Cores.
  • Schedule and organize HPC meetings and conferences (including symposiums, workshops, research theme working groups, and informal educational programs.)
  • Manage the HPC center grant from the NICHD, including budget development, account maintenance and oversight, billing, reporting, compliance, annual financial reports
  • Review, process, and reconcile invoices and reimbursements of HPC main account spending.
  • Maintain oversight of sub-project budgets, including pilot research awards.
  • Assist in the preparation of HPC center grant reports and center-level grant applications.
  • Manage and update the HPC website and social media accounts.
  • Communicate with HPC partners within and beyond JHU.
  • Run quarterly publication database searches for Associates’ publications and submit for PMCID compliance as appropriate.
  • Attend the PAA annual meeting for NICHD population center administrators.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
  • Minimum three years related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

 

JHU Equivalency Formula:  30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of SAP

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment.

 

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
