Sr. ERP Business Analyst

IT@JH Enterprise Business Solutions (EBS) is seeking a Sr. ERP Business Analyst who is responsible for the configuration of the Eightfold, SAP, and SAP SuccessFactors modules to include; Analysis, Configuration, Implementation, Support, and Maintenance. The scope of work is at an enterprise-wide level with typical projects impacting the broader customer base of Johns Hopkins and its most mission-critical systems. Projects will include large-scale integrations with a vast, very complex, and highly distributed network infrastructure. Projects often require interaction with various departments and teams both within and outside of the IT@JH department.


The Sr. ERP Business Analyst is a member of the EBS group within IT@Johns Hopkins and supports the Johns Hopkins University and the Johns Hopkins Health System. The Sr. ERP Business Analyst reports to an IT Director.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day activities and tasks assigned to the support of Eightfold Talent Acquisition and Talent Management modules as well as SuccessFactors Recruiting modules.
  • Responsible for the technical maintenance of the application, including system configuration and coordination with developers for custom program maintenance, and for participating in the maintenance support team response to enterprise-wide customer requests for complex problem resolution. Configuration duties may include standard and custom table maintenance and support of Johns Hopkins enhancements.
  • Serves as the functional system expert for relevant modules and participates in the development of problem-solving strategies, problem resolution, and investigation of unique/first-time instances of system problems reported through the enterprise-shared services.
  • Applies knowledge of the Eightfold and SAP SuccessFactors platform functionality and the configuration toolkit to translate business requirements into functional design specifications, configuration changes or initial settings, module-relevant security settings, and reporting options.
  • Works closely with HR Shared Services, Talent Acquisition, and HR business owners throughout the enterprise to deliver HR-related technologies.
  • Completes the production of unplanned support items.
  • Works in an agile hybrid scrum environment. Attends scrum meetings to update the internal team on project status.
  • Responsible for assisting in planning and estimating their project work and logging their time on the respective projects.


Specific Devices, Software, Projects

  • The Successfactors/Eightfold pod works with employee master data in several systems including Eightfold Talent Acquisition and Talent Management, SAP for personnel administration and organizational management, and SAP SuccessFactors for recruiting, and other supporting systems.


Scale/size of Area, Project and/or System Supported

  • Supports Eightfold, SAP, and SAP SuccessFactors; there are approximately 30 integrations and numerous custom reports and dashboards maintained by this team.


Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Communication liaison between HR business leaders and developers.
  • Ability to clearly write functional design specifications.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or relevant functional area. 
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience working in functional area or systems analysis, with a minimum four years of ERP experience. Some configuration experience is required.
  • Experience configuring in Eightfold and SAP SuccessFactors modules.
  • Experience in leading projects, leading meetings with business representatives to discuss requirements, consulting on system best practices, managing project expectations, and delivering quality functionality.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in other Eightfold, SAP, or SuccessFactors Modules.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Johns Hopkins University’s salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, education/training and other qualifications. Education and Experience Equivalency
Please refer to the job description above to see which forms of equivalency are permitted for this position. If permitted, equivalencies will follow these guidelines: JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
