Sr. ERP Business Analyst
IT@JH Enterprise Business Solutions is seeking a Sr ERP Business Analyst who will be responsible for the day-to-day activities and tasks assigned to the support of SAP Supply Chain modules, supporting master data elements, and interfaces with external systems. The successful candidate is responsible for the technical maintenance of the application, including system configuration and coordination with developers for custom program maintenance, and for participating in the maintenance support team response to enterprise-wide customer requests for complex problem resolution. Configuration duties may include standard and custom table maintenance and support of Johns Hopkins enhancements and schema configuration. The Senior ERP Business Analyst serves as the functional system expert for relevant modules and participates in the development of problem-solving strategies, problem resolution, and investigation of unique/first time instances of system problems reported through the enterprise Shared Services. Applies knowledge of the SAP platform functionality and the configuration toolkit in order to translate business requirements into functional design specifications, configuration changes or initial settings, module-relevant security settings, and reporting options.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide daily support for the relevant functional/technical area within the SAP landscape (including 3rd party applications supported by EBS, integration points with complimentary systems, etc.) by recording/providing status on issues, troubleshooting/analysis of issues, identification and execution of possible solutions, testing of solutions, and monitoring of solutions in the production environment. Support should be proactive wherever possible.
- Provide daily maintenance support for the relevant functional/technical area within the SAP landscape by recording/providing status on requests, prioritizing tasks or working with management to clarify prioritization, executing maintenance activities, coordinating testing of maintenance activities, and coordinating the application of maintenance activities to the production environment.
- Provide support for the enhancement of functionality of the SAP landscape in the form of participation in design discussions and requirement gathering opportunities, analysis, identification of options, presentation of options/considerations, coordination with other functional/technical EBS and IT teams, testing options in coordination with business users, documentation of design, testing, and acceptance, and production support of enhancements. Enhancement requests are prioritized and managed through traditional IT project management principles.
- Provide periodic support for the Johns Hopkins SAP training environment.
- Position requires a functional knowledge of SAP Supply Chain functions (Supply Chain Master Data and Reporting, Inventory Management, Warehouse Management, Travel Management, Purchase Requisitions, SRM Procurement, A/P)
- Position requires an understanding of the role of Configuration in SAP functionality and of functional configuration in area of relevant responsibility.
- Position requires an understanding of SAP Master Data required for functional processing, SAP Transaction Data (including the Document concept).
- Helpful to have previous experience with Business Intelligence (BW / BI)
- Position requires an understanding of LSMW, CATT Processing, ABAP Query, major SAP Tables/Fields in area of responsibility.
- Helpful to have an understanding/experience of the OSS SAP Issue Reporting/Resolution system.
- Position requires an understanding of of ABAP code, the debug function, etc.
- Position requires an understanding of a multiple SAP environment landscape (including a Development System, a QA/Testing System, and a Production System)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s)
- Advanced knowledge of system processes and configuration in SAP to support and lead problem identification and resolution.
- Microsoft Office Software skills (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Analytical abilities, critical thinking and problem-solving competencies to support non-standard, unique problem resolution.
- Excellent team organizational and motivational skills to support a positive work environment under circumstances where time constraints for problem resolution are inflexible.
- Negotiation skills to support compromise and alternative solutions in pursuit of customer satisfaction.
- Deep application knowledge in at least one major process area, with working knowledge of applications in at least one other major process area.
- Customer service skills – capable of participating in a dialog with users/customers, understand the nature of the request being made, provide timely feedback to the customer.
- Request Tracking/Status Reporting skills - Detailed in tracking and reporting status of issues/maintenance requests/enhancement requests to users and management.
- Teamwork - Ability to work as part of a team and with members of other functional/technical teams to identify action items, team member responsibilities, etc.
On Call Requirements
- On call is required and shared with at least 3 other team members.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or relevant functional area.
- Five years experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- JHU/JHHS business practice experience.
- Experience providing technical solutions in a higher-ed, academic medical center, and/or health care setting.
- 6-8 years experience in complex system environments including SAP modules.
- Experience working on two or more full lifecycle SAP implementations (or significant upgrade experiences), preferably in a public sector organizations, external to Johns Hopkins
- Experience in more than one SAP Business Suite and/or NetWeaver module.
- Preferred skills include an understanding and/or experience with the SRM 'Extended Classic' implementation scenarios.
- Preferred experience includes SRM Workflow development.
- Preferred experience includes ABAP Web Dynpro including screen enhancements and development.
- Preferred experience includes specification creation, program/application design, and program development/testing.
- Preferred experience includes exposure to Business Intelligence (BW/BI).
- Preferred experience includes at least 5 years with SAP's SRM Solution, including at least one year with SRM version 7.0
- Experience with JIRA.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.

Starting Salary Range: $85,500 - $149,800 Annually (Commensurate w/exp.)
