Sr. Research Assistant
Housing mobility programs are designed to help families move from high poverty neighborhoods into lower poverty, better resourced ones. The MOVED (Mobility Opportunity Vouchers to Eliminate Diabetes and Obesity) Study is designed to test whether helping families move changes adult and child health. The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health’s Department of Health Policy & Management is seeking a Sr. Research Assistant who will assist with tasks on the MOVED Study.
The Sr. Research Assistant works under the general direction of a faculty researcher or senior research staff and independently conducts a variety of operational and technical activities key to the conduct of and direction of the research.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop data collection tools based on understanding of underlying study design.
- Participate in developing standard operating procedures for one or more studies.
- Design and set up standard operating procedures.
- Oversee data collection.
- Analyze data under general oversight and make data-driven recommendations.
- Oversee day-to-day activities and provide training for new staff on study.
- Conduct literature searches to pull background material and identify information relevant and applicable to research interest.
In addition to the duties described above
- Responsible for helping to schedule appointments, make reminder/confirmation calls, and complete survey interviews over the phone.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related field.
- Two years of related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a related field.
- Previous experience working within a research setting, preferably with field experience or engaging and recruiting participants.
- Previous experience engaging participants from diverse backgrounds.
- An interest and experience in housing, neighborhood factors, and/or food policy preferred.

Starting Salary Range: $19.85 - $34.75 HRLY (Commensurate w/exp.)
