Sr. Research Program Coordinator II

Specific duties & responsibilities:

  • The candidate will participate in conducting a research project aimed at developing, implementing, and evaluating an intervention for improving patient engagement and prescription opioid use in perioperative pain management.

 

  • This individual will work as a member of the Armstrong Institute of Patient Safety and Quality (AI), School of Medicine. AI research activities are interdisciplinary and regularly include researchers and clinicians at the School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins, and policy leaders, project leaders and research administrators at a number of research, grant, and contracting agencies.

 

  • The candidate will work with the principal investigator and team on various phases of the research from performing quantitative and qualitative data analysis to reporting on research findings. Responsibilities include: conducting data analysis, synthesis of research findings, assisting with the development and editing of project-related deliverables and manuscripts.

 

 

 

Minimum qualifications (mandatory):

  • Requires bachelor's in related discipline.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Five years of experience in conducting study participant interviews and conducting qualitative data analysis required.
  • 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience

 

Special knowledge, skills, and abilities:

 

  • The successful applicant will have outstanding research skills and the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are important in this role.
  • The successful applicant will demonstrate an ability to work well with other professionals with minimal supervision, and be comfortable being part of a diverse professional team.
  • Five years of related experience preferred, including functioning as part of a research team.

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment.

 

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
