Systems Administrator

IT@JH Enterprise Directory and Messaging is seeking a Systems Administrator in Identity and Access Management (IAM) who is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of IAM systems and tools to ensure secure and efficient access to organizational resources. This role contributes to the continuous improvement and automation of IAM workflows and processes. Also, monitors system performance, resolves user and operational issues, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement IAM solutions and meet compliance requirements.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supports and maintains Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems and processes.
  • Assists in managing identity and access data.
  • Ensures compliance with governance standards.
  • Troubleshoots system and user issues.
  • System and process monitoring, maintenance and addressing user inquiries and access issues.
  • Major projects are directed by senior staff, this position offers opportunities to contribute to IAM initiatives and improvements within established guidelines.

  • Provides a support role for the IAM team responsible for the entire identity lifecycle for all JH Identities. Applications to develop and maintain these solutions include:
  • Microsoft SQL
  • Powershell
  • Microsoft Identity Manager
  • Azure AD Connect
  • School Data Sync
  • Azure Active Directory
  • SQL Reporting Services
  • PowerBI


Scale/size of area, project and/or system supported

  • The IAM team oversees the management of hundreds of thousands of accounts across multiple Azure tenants, ensuring secure and streamlined identity solutions on an enterprise scale.
  • Beyond maintaining JH Identities, the team is responsible for numerous data integrations that support essential enterprise operations. T
  • he IAM team’s work includes large-scale projects that drive the success of enterprise initiatives, leveraging identity and access management to support secure, efficient, and compliant data usage throughout the organization.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting IAM and/or cloud technologies.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Johns Hopkins University’s salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Education and Experience Equivalency
Please refer to the job description above to see which forms of equivalency are permitted for this position. If permitted, equivalencies will follow these guidelines: JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination.
